Sports and Games


"Sports" plays a vital role in student's life: It helps not only to improve physical fitness but also mental discipline. Inter House Tournaments and Extracurricular Activities are conducted in the various games and activities like:

  • Our Ambal - Ambalites are divided into 4 houses respectively, the Alexandrite, the Beryl, the Morganite and the Lapiz Lazuli.
  • The four house names represent the precious gems of different colours.
  • The house colour is based on the gems orginal colours.
  • The house colour of Alexandrite is Purple and their Motto is 'Arise, Awake, Achieve'.
  • he house colour of Beryl is Yellow and their Motto is 'Battle towards Victory'.
  • The house colour of Morganite is Pink and their motto is 'Make with the Muscles'.
  • The house colour of Lapiz Lazuli is Blue and their motto is 'Learners today, Leaders tomorrow'.

Sports Achievements

Sports and games are integral parts of school life. Students are taught the importance of sports as a Physical activity as well as a medium to develop competitive spirit and camaraderie.

There is a wide variety of athletic and sporting activities offered in the campus.

Sahodaya – CBSE Schools Coimbatore organised Competitive Sports Programme for the year 2011 – 2012 in which our student.

  • N. Visrutha of standard VII bagged the I prize (under 12 years age group) in 500 m Skating Tournament.
  • P. Prateekshaa of standard III bagged the I prize in 500 m Skating Tournament and III prize in 300 m Skating Tournament. (under 10 years age group).
  • Ajay of Std VII backed the First Place in 300m skating tournament organised by Tamilnadu Sports Development Organization.

Physical fitness, emotional & Psychological balance and spiritual development are brought in through yoga. Yoga is a vast collection of spiritual techniques, integrating mind, body and spirit to achieve the state of enlightment. It is predominantly concerned with maintaining a state of equanimity at all costs.

Dancing is so much more than just growing on the dance floor to your favorite tunes. Not only does it train your brain and your body’s motor skills but it also an excellent exercise for your entire body. To stay physically and mentally fit. And we SAPS teach both classical and western dance.

Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything. And we at SAPS groove to the music.

Art And Craft


Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up. Artistic activities foster intellectual development it stimulates both sides of the brain. Increase the capacity of memory. Help develop reading skills and children do better in Math and Science.

SWIMMING

Swimming is fun its great way to keep fit, stay healthy and make friends it is a low-impact activity that has many physical and mental health benefits. Coaching from grade I to VIII is given.

Karate

Karate aims to build character improve human behavior, and cultivate modesty.

Skating


In skating over thin ice our safety is in our speed.

Chess


Helps you to concentrate, improves your logic. It teaches to play by the rules and takes Responsibility for your actions. On how to solve problems in an uncertain environment.

Carrom


Carrom helps in increasing the logical reasoning power in children the children would be playing and having fun at the same time. They would practice skills like counting, reading, visual perception and eye hand coordination.

"Extra – Curricular Activities"

In addition to Physical development, students indulge in many extra – curricular activities like Dance, Music, Karate, Field trips, Cultural events, elocution, Horse riding, Rifle shooting, Archery, Aero modelling, Virtual Reality, Handwriting and Essay competitions.

SAPS – Houses

In order to inculcate Team Spirit, co-operate efforts and friendly rivalry, the students are divided into 4 Houses named after precious stones which signify our Motto 'Source to Shine'.

To enhance experiential learning and inculcate critical, logical and analytical thinking various Aptitude Exams are conducted. SAPS organises

Field trips, Industrial Visits, Competitive Examinations (NTSE, Olympiads, GESE), Literary & Science Clubs, Eco-Club, NSS, NCC, Adolescence Education Programme, Prathmic & Prachar Sabha Exams.
